The Brazilian Association of Online Gambling (ABRAJOGO) has announced its official relaunch with a new leadership team and a renewed mission to solidify its position as the industry’s leading advocate and promoter. “This is a crucial moment. The Brazilian iGaming market is undergoing significant transformation with the ongoing regulatory process,” said Witoldo Hendrich, president of ABRAJOGO, to SiGMA News.
Founded in 2019, the association aims to represent the entire iGaming industry, including operators, suppliers such as payment companies, legal, game developers, marketing, media outlets, etc. and other class entities. ABRAJOGO experienced a period of dormancy and now, its return coincides with a pivotal moment for the sector – spurred by the long-awaited regulation established by Law 14,790/23. This strategic timing positions ABRAJOGO to become the unifying force for all stakeholders within the Brazilian iGaming ecosystem, including operators, suppliers, affiliated entities, and professionals.
ABRAJOGO emphasises a comprehensive approach, championing best practices and fostering sustainable growth for the Brazilian iGaming market. “The industry must align itself to ensure that this growth occurs responsibly and sustainably. ABRAJOGO positions itself as the bridge connecting companies, authorities, and society, fostering a regulated and secure environment,” Hendrich said on the association’s return and the current landscape.
Looking ahead
With the Brazilian iGaming market poised for significant growth by 2025, ABRAJOGO expresses optimism about its role in shaping the sector’s trajectory. The association goes beyond offering ongoing member support. It intends to solidify a stable regulatory environment, promote ethical practices, and cultivate a more transparent dialogue between the public and private sectors.
“Our mission is to ensure that the iGaming market has an active voice. In 2025, we aim to further consolidate dialogue with the government and strengthen our efforts to foster a responsible and secure market. We have all the key assets to achieve this, including renowned advisors we are bringing on board—industry leaders and some of the most prominent companies in the sector,” Hendrich said.
ABRAJOGO’s core objectives
The association aims for market unification by establishing a collaborative environment that shall represent all industry players, including operators of all sizes, suppliers, startups, and professional entities. It will also act as an interlocutor, facilitating open communication between the iGaming industry and the government. This includes supporting members in navigating regulations and adhering to best practices. ABRAJOGO also promotes sustainability, by championing sustainable development within the sector by fostering job creation, supporting sports and cultural initiatives, and strengthening the local economy. It plans to strengthen regulations by advocating for the implementation of robust yet balanced regulations that encourage controlled market growth.
