Colorado’s commitment to responsible gaming has led to the creation of the 2025 Responsible Gaming Grants, aimed at empowering non-profits to address gambling-related issues throughout the state. This initiative from the Colorado Division of Gaming opens a path for organisations to receive funding that supports addiction treatment, educational resources, and other essential services advocating for safe gambling practices.
The Responsible Gaming Grant programme is designed to provide financial support to non-profits focused on responsible gambling initiatives in Colorado. Christopher Schroder, Director of the Colorado Division of Gaming, expressed the state’s excitement over the programme’s potential, stating, “We are excited to accept applications and look forward to supporting innovative projects that promote responsible gaming in Colorado.”
How to apply for the grant?
Non-profit organisations interested in applying should note that the application window is currently open, with submissions accepted until 1 December 2024, at 5 p.m. After the deadline, the Colorado Division of Gaming will carefully review all applications and submit recommendations to the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission (CLGCC) by 20 February 2025, when final decisions will be made at their Lakewood office.
Eligible applicants include non-profit organisations or state programmes that actively work to promote responsible gambling in Colorado. Qualifying projects may include addiction recovery services, gambling hotlines, educational campaigns, and other support services for individuals affected by gambling issues.
Organisations awarded funding are expected to adhere to specific responsibilities, including meeting all reporting obligations and attending required meetings throughout the grant period. Failure to meet these requirements could lead to disqualification from future grant programmes or potential clawback of funds.
Colorado’s commitment to responsible gaming
In 2024, the Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission allocated nearly $2 million in grants to non-profits dedicated to tackling gambling-related challenges. This financial support has positively impacted Colorado communities, enabling these organisations to develop and maintain programmes that address critical needs in responsible gambling.
Beyond the grant programme, Colorado offers various resources to support responsible gambling. Non-profits and other interested parties are encouraged to subscribe to the Responsible Gaming distribution list for updates on resources and programmes aimed at supporting responsible gaming practices.
Colorado’s dedication to responsible gaming is evident through its ongoing initiatives and financial backing of non-profits working in this area. By supporting these projects, the state aims to reduce gambling-related harms and foster a gaming environment that prioritises public safety and well-being.
