Jelly Entertainment has named Steven Matsell as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a crucial change in its leadership. Matsell, a seasoned industry expert with over 20 years of experience, steps into the role following a series of high-profile appointments throughout the year that includes Silvio Insigne as CFO, Kim Eaglestone as COO, and Salvador Lima as CCO.
Matsell’s career spans two decades in gaming technology, where he has held several important roles, including Director at Gaming Technology Solutions (GTS), a Playtech subsidiary, and CEO of Leander Games. After Leander Games was acquired by Raw iGaming, Matsell become Chief Commercial Officer at Raw iGaming in 2022, closely managing its business strategies and commercial growth.
Speaking about his new role, Matsell said, “Stepping into this role excites me, and I’m inspired by the talented team around me. My goal is to build on the strong foundation David established, accelerating growth and new market expansion while upholding our commitment to service, relationships, and values.”
David Newstead moves to CBDO
David Newstead, the outgoing CEO, will be moved to the role of Chief Business Development Officer, where he will focus on strengthening Jelly Entertainment’s global presence and building new partnerships.
“David has been key in building Jelly into what it is today,” Matsell added. “His determination and resilience have driven much of our success, and his move to Chief Business Development Officer will allow him to focus on his true strength developing new business opportunities and nurturing international partnerships.”
This comes as part of a major shuffle which saw Silvio Insigne as CFO, Kim Eaglestone as COO and Salvador Lima CCO throughout the year.
Newstead on appointment of Matsell said, “Steven has a great working rapport with me, aligns perfectly with the culture and character we’ve built, and has been with us from the beginning, playing a key role in driving our success. I couldn’t think of anyone better to lead us into our next growth phase.”
This reshuffle in leadership comes after announcement of recent partnership of Jelly Entertainment with Scientific Games. The partnership aims to expands Jelly’s footprint in the gaming sector.
