Born in September 1999, the 25-year-old Brazilian first stepped into the limelight in 2015 with his YouTube channel. What began as a casual outlet for his creativity quickly blossomed into a global platform that now boasts over 20 million followers across different social media platforms. “My family didn’t want me to use my real name online when I was younger,” he shares with a grin. The alias “Jon Vlogs” was born out of a mix of gaming inspiration and practicality. “I played a lot of video games and liked the nickname Jon. I also watched Roman Atwood Vlogs, so I borrowed the ‘Vlogs’ part. I never imagined it would become this big.”
During my interview with him in Malta at SiGMA Europe 2024 this month, Luan shared his excitement about the poker world, which he approaches with the same curiosity and calculated flair that defines his content creation. He described poker as “a game of stories—where patience, intuition, and timing become your strongest allies.” This perspective resonates with his audience, many of whom admire his ability to adapt and thrive in diverse spaces.

It opened up new opportunities and a whole different audience,” he says. Juggling his expansive online presence—spanning Instagram, Twitch, and TikTok—with poker and business ventures hasn’t been easy. “It’s hard work maintaining momentum, but being hybrid is key. I adapt my communication for every audience, whether I’m speaking to poker fans, business executives, or my Twitch chat.”
Shaping Brazil’s iGaming future
Jon’s entrepreneurial instincts have also redefined Brazil’s iGaming sector. Collaborating with Blaze.com, he revolutionised its marketing strategy by focusing on Instagram instead of YouTube. “I told the owner, ‘You’re doing it wrong for our country.’ Instagram is where the action is,” he recalls.
With a modest trial budget of 1 million BRL (€200,000), Jon’s campaign demonstrated explosive success, leading to contracts with over 200 influencers, including Neymar. “We grew Blaze into a giant. And now, I’ve launched my own casino, Jon V, in the last eight months. I’m proud of the mark we’ve made in the industry.”
The future of iGaming in Brazil excites and challenges him. “Regulations are coming, and they’ll change everything—taxation, KYC, and even how players interact. But loves gambling. It’s in our culture. Everyone will adapt.”
Family is the foundation of success
Amid the fame and business ventures, one constant remains: his devotion to his mother, whom he affectionately calls “my queen.”
“It’s just me and her now,” Jon shares, reflecting on the loss of other family members. “She’s my best friend, my replacement dad, and my rock.” Recently, he bought her a farm near Rio de Janeiro, where she enjoys a peaceful life away from city chaos. “She’s thriving—cows, horses, plantations—it’s her dream life. For me, it’s a retreat from the digital world.”
This Christmas, he looks forward to celebrating with her on the farm. “Last year, we were apart. It was tough, but this year will be different. She’s been planning it for six months,” he says, a rare moment of vulnerability breaking through his energetic demeanour.
