Flexible, health-conscious plan will ensure safety of attendees and participants in November show
SiGMA Group has announced a new policy detailing a flexible and considerate response to SiGMA Europe 2020 attendees and SiGMA Manila 2021. It was announced earlier this year that due to the COVID-19 crisis SiGMA Group would be postponing the Asia event, which was originally planned for June this year, to May 2021. The SiGMA Europe show to be held in Malta this November will go ahead as planned.
New measures will offer attendees the chance for a full refund – no questions asked, or the opportunity to reschedule their attendance. With difficult times being felt across the board, SiGMA believes that it is crucial for the industry to stand united and work together to weather the storm.
The company has also released a rigorous plan of action detailing the safety measures it plans to take for the upcoming expo in Malta this November. With the event scheduled to go ahead as planned, the protocols will underpin SiGMA’s commitment to ensuring the complete safety and health of attendees and participants, bringing peace of mind not only to guests, but to the Maltese government as well.
We are committed to our responsibility to provide a safe, enjoyable event for our customers – Eman Pulis, Founder SiGMA Group.
“We are sensitive to the fact that this is a tough time for the industry” says Eman Pulis, Founder of SiGMA Group,” as the events industry starts up again, it is important to stand united and support each other. We are committed to our responsibility to provide a safe, enjoyable event for our customers, and would like to thank them for their constant support as we figure out the way forward together.”
A number of measures will also be in place in the run up to the physical show, with a focus on moving ticket sales and payments exclusively online, and the creation of an app allowing delegates to pre-book meetings. Attendees will also receive regular notifications reminding them of safety behaviour during the show, with access to live streaming support channels across social media.
Additionally the venue itself will benefit from wider corridors, registration points outside the entrance, clear signage indicating COVID-19 safety rules, and roomy private meeting spaces which can be pre booked for one-on-one’s. Conference guidelines will also include a seating arrangement that accommodates social distancing measures, while all mics and podiums will be cleaned in between each speaker.
Exhibition stands will also be required to adhere to additional regulations, with a number of persons per stand restricted to ensure social distancing measures are adhered to. Safety procedures will also apply to the food court, including queue markers, open sides to allow air flow, and proper clothing.
Bathrooms will also be placed on a more frequent cleaning rota, while hand sanitisers will be placed throughout the venue. In addition to the standard first aid tents, a number of first-aiders will circulate the floor to provide additional support.
A strict crisis management protocol will be established which defines on-site behaviour should illness occur. SiGMA staff will also undergo training for their own safety and to ensure the safe execution of their duties, and understanding of procedures for personal hygiene, sanitising and distancing.
Exhibitors will also benefit from the added value of a virtual expo experience for those unable to attend.
