Simon Westbury resigns from Digitain and SportGenerate

Simon Westbury, who served as Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Digitain and CEO of SportGenerate, steps down from his position after five and a half years with the companies. His exit was announced on 11 October, this marks the end of a journey where Westbury played a pivotal role in the businesses’ growth and success.

In a LinkedIn post, Westbury shared his thoughts on his departure, saying, “There is a saying in Armenia there is no good without bad and no bad without good.
“As CBO of Digitain and CEO of Generate, the last half of a decade has been more than a job, it has been an all-consuming passion where the good memories have definitely out weighed the bad, coupled with unparalleled success.”
His leadership focused on empowering his team and breaking down barriers, allowing them to make impactful decisions. “Integrity is very important to me, and I believe I can say I hold my head high,” Westbury noted.

Digitain’s success and expansion

During his tenure, Westbury witnessed and contributed to several key milestones for Digitain. The company recently secured approval to begin operations in the UK, a significant move that strengthens its presence in Europe. Digitain also obtained an A1 Manufacturer’s License from the Hellenic Gaming Commission, enabling operations in Greece.
Reflecting on his time as CEO of SportGenerate, Westbury described the role as demanding yet rewarding. Westbury said in an interview, “Being CEO has not come as naturally as sales and business development, but I have learned so much.” The role pushed him to develop new skills, and he credited his talented team for their support over the last 15 months. Westbury acknowledged that learning on the job has helped him grow as a professional and prepared him for future challenges.
