The highly anticipated Pitch competition crowned Xgenia as the winner, celebrating their ground breaking use of artificial intelligence to revolutionise slot game development. The Pitch took place on the SiGMA stage during the SiGMA Europe conference being held at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub in Malta. Dijana Mijailovic and Helena Schenda report.
Mark Blandford, partner at Burlywood Capital and competition judge, commented on XGENIA’s pitch, stating, “This is something which is genuine innovation to me… it’s going to be a very exciting company to follow.”
The SiGMA Pitch competition provides startups with a platform to showcase innovative ideas and solutions to a panel of industry-leading judges. Designed to encourage creativity and ingenuity, the event has become a key highlight of the summit, offering winners unparalleled visibility and networking opportunities within the gaming sector.
This year, Xgenia impressed judges and attendees alike with their cutting-edge AI technology that addresses critical challenges in game development, such as speed to market, scalability, and rising costs.
Delivering the Pitch was Keith Zammit, Xgenia’s Chief Sales Officer. With over a decade of experience in iGaming sales and a strong entrepreneurial background, Keith brought deep industry insight and passion to the stage, making a strong case for Xgenia’s innovative solutions.
Mark Flores Martin, CEO of XGENIA, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s momentum and the iGaming industry’s support. “Winning this award is not just a validation of our technology but a significant milestone for us as we work to set a new standard in game development. XGENIA is committed to reshaping the gaming experience with AI, delivering value to developers, operators, and players alike.”
During the pitch, Keith unveiled Xgenia’s flagship tools: an AI-powered development team and an innovative mathematics tool named Blaze. Their system drastically reduces the time required to create game prototypes from hundreds of hours to just 15 minutes. “We were trying to be completely different and solve a problem that’s very hard to solve – rapid game development – a challenge that only AI can solve,” Keith explained.
In an exclusive post-victory interview, Xgenia’s Chief Sales Officer expressed his excitement about the win: “It feels amazing, like all the hard work over the last year is finally paying off. We’re being recognized,” he shared.
When asked what set their pitch apart, he attributed it to their ability to offer an entirely different approach to solving industry pain points. The team’s plans include leveraging AI to create video content for every game they develop and expanding into crash and instant-win games. While some of their upcoming projects remain under wraps, Keith promised to disrupt the gaming industry with innovative solutions that drive efficiency and creativity.
SiGMA Europe 2024 continues to solidify its reputation as a premier hub for gaming innovation, and Xgenia’s victory exemplifies the transformative potential of AI within the sector.
